Happy New Year Amigos!!

You may or may not already know but every year we run a ‘Keep it Local’ campaign with amazing success and this year it’s back and BiGGER than ever!

This January Liverpool continues it’s annual “Keep it Local” campaign, which seeks to encourage locals to keep money in their community by shopping and eating in local restaurants and businesses.

Guests who dine with us or at any Miyagi restaurant will receive 40% off their bill, with a further 10% donated back into the local community. We will be supporting the Whitechapel Centre, whilst Miyagi will be supporting the ‘Save Katie’ Wright appeal.

The idea is simple, customers get 40% off their food bill when they spend £5 or more in any local independent business, retailer or charity in the city. Just give the receipt to your server at the beginning of your meal to receive your discount.

Earlier this year, the Batman loving, pink wearing, true modern day girl Katie Wright was diagnosed with Leukemia for the 2nd time after a long, arduous 3 years of treatment. Her family have set up a Go Fund Me page in the hope of £370,000 towards her life saving treatment. Director, Alex Hannah says that “We hope with the support of our customers we will be able to help Katie and her family get closer to the money she needs for life saving treatment”.

With the ‘Save Katie’ fund having the full support of Miyagi, we will be donating our share to The Whitechapel centre, who run a scheme called ‘No second night out’. The vision being that no person new to the streets of Liverpool will sleep cold for more than one night. To do this is expensive, as the centre costs £548 and thats for just one night!! That’s more than the weekly average rental cost of a Liverpool apartment.

The ‘Keep It Local’ campaign is about drawing attention to the life blood of our communities which are our local, homegrown businesses and people! Liverpool is thriving with so many hidden gems that this campaign is the perfect excuse to get out and get discovering them all.

The more receipts we get the more we are able to support our two nominated charities! There’s never been a better excuse to get out there and exploring your city!
